Construction Services: Gate Fabrication and Transportation
Project Description
This construction services project involved removal of two 250 ton miter gate leaves and transporting them downstream for disposition at a reclamation site. Two newly fabricated 350 ton gate leaves were furnished and installed with 69X90 Ft. dimension complete. Gates were fabricated in Iowa and transported by barge via navigable waterway from a final assembly point in Burlington, Iowa to the Black Warrior River, Alabama Site. Additionally Harry Pepper & Associates received the “Safe Contractor of the Year” award by the US Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District for the 1st quarter of FY 2005. In order to earn this award HPA competed against all other contractors within the Mobile District for projects larger than 5 Million in contract value. HPA's "Safety Program" was the best among all the competing contractors.
